Following the success of the first Short Film Festival FY as well as meeting the expectations of film lovers, this year the Theater and Film Club of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University in collaboration with FPT Television launched the Short Film Festival FY 2. The film festival starts from May 30, 2018 until October 10, 2018.

FY is an abbreviation of Film and Youth and is also an abbreviation for Forever Young. With the core spirit of film education, the Film Festival not only honors short films as an independent art form, but also creates opportunities for filmmakers, especially young filmmakers from all over the countries to connect with each other and to the audience.

Through the Short Film Festival FY, young filmmakers are not only able to fulfill their own ideas but also have the opportunity to interact, meet, and learn from previous filmmakers' experiences, and at the same time, they can create a career start-up step, self-promote their brands to potential manufacturers. This is a golden opportunity for filmmakers to show their talents and passions, while giving audiences a subtle, realistic, meaningful and emotional short film.

The youth group, candidates for the Short Film Festival FY season 1, attended the press conference.

Director - Actor Hong Anh, one of the four main judges, shared the meaning that the contest brought to the passionate young filmmakers: "Without a common playing field like the Short Film Festival FY, it will be difficult for them to know the criteria, as well as get a clear appreciation from experts. To be more specific, your work is just at the level of a purely entertaining clip or you started to consciously grasp the basic steps for making films".

Agreed with this opinion, Director Phan Dang Di and Phan Gia Nhat Linh also affirmed that the first criterion for evaluating a valid work is that the work must be a film that does not confuse the concept with a pure entertaining clip or a music video, and there are many professional factors to evaluate this issue. When participating in the contest, the contestants will have the opportunity to learn more about it.
